Online Therapy in California
The same room for conversation, from a private place in California.
California Video Care
A Conversation Without the Office Visit
Online therapy means meeting with a Heart'N Mind Counseling clinician by video from a private location. You do not need to travel to Brentwood for the appointment, but you must be located in California during every session.
This option can be considered for individual, couples, family, or teen therapy. The consultation is a place to discuss the care you are seeking and whether the video format fits your circumstances.
Before You Connect
Prepare Your Device and Location
Set aside a location where others cannot overhear you and where you can give the conversation your attention. Preparation is about privacy as well as the device you use.
- A working camera and microphone
- A charged computer, tablet, or phone
- A reliable internet connection
- A quiet place to speak privately
- Time to settle in without another task competing for attention
Privacy Questions
When a Private Place Is Hard to Arrange
Not every home offers uninterrupted time or a room where conversation stays private. If that is a concern, mention it before scheduling rather than assuming video care will work for you.
You can ask how the appointment will be arranged and what to do if you have a connection problem. For partners or family members, discuss who will attend and how everyone can participate from a private location.

An Initial Video Session
What You Can Bring to the Conversation
A first online session can begin with what led you to ask for therapy and how your concerns affect daily life. You might discuss a recent event or describe a feeling that has been difficult to explain.
You can ask about the clinician’s approach and how privacy is handled. Everyone taking part in couples or family appointments must be located in California, even if participants join from different places.
A Separate Service
Clinical Evaluations by Video
